This week, the big news in the Paleo world is the PaleoFX conference in Austin, TX. Unlike the more science-oriented Ancestral Health Symposium, PaleoFX takes a practical approach to evolutionary health and fitness, with cooking demonstrations and hands-on “movement sessions” to learn the basics of Paleo fitness in addition to the traditional panels and presentations. PaleoFX is streaming all their sessions live (and will probably put out a DVD after the conference, the way they did last year), so if you can’t get to Austin, you can also make a date with yourself to watch the panels on video. This would make a great Paleo slumber party, or an exciting introduction to evolutionary health for Paleo-curious friends and family.
To nibble on while you’re watching those videos, try putting together your own “taste of Paleo” menu to get your friends hooked on how delicious Paleo food can be. You could serve up a buffet of multiple hot dishes as an afternoon or evening meal, or lay out a tray of cold foods as snacks to munch on while you’re enjoying the videos. Try some of the recipes below, or poke through the Paleo Recipe Book for ideas:

The BLT dressed eggs we posted this week would also make a tasty addition to the cold menu: they blow the sandwich version right out of the water. And if the cholesterol in those creamy, delicious yolks is getting you down, we also recently posted an article explaining why cholesterol can sometimes get higher after switching to Paleo, and what to do about it (hint: the answer isn’t “take a statin”).
Best wishes to everyone over the Easter holiday!
