After taking a little time off, we’re finally back with another post about what’s been happening around the Paleo community. First and foremost, we must acknowledge the very exciting fact that we’ve reached 50,000 followers on our Facebook fan page! It’s hard to believe how quickly we’ve grown. Paleo Diet Lifestyle was started just about a two years ago with hopes of generating at least a small following and bringing some awareness to the importance of Paleo health. To see where we are today is quite remarkable and for this we are so grateful to our readers. To celebrate, we’ve posted this delicious lemonade with thyme beverage. Just a little something to toast to our success with you.
It’s also that time of the year when you ship your children off to school, or maybe even yourself. Perhaps one of the most daunting things about this is the need to send or bring along a lunch and some snacks along. Added to all this, it has to be something Paleo. We wanted to help make your life a little easier so here are some lunch and snack ideas that can be found on our website:
These are just a few ideas and if anything we hope it can give you a bit of inspiration. More recipes can always be found in the recipe section of the website. And of course, we can’t help but mention the never-ending choices that the cookbook has to offer.
In other news, there has been quite some buzz around the loss of a Hollywood great, Michael Clarke Duncan. His death came following heart troubles he has been experiencing throughout the year. Although nothing has been conclusive yet, there has been quite a bit of controversy surrounding the fact that he was a proud vegan. Could his diet have actually been the core root of his heart problems? This article explores this topic in greater detail, highlighting the importance of a meat-based diet.
Also of great interest, Chris Kresser recently released a very interesting three part series on a nutrition for healthy skin. Each part focuses on specific nutrients that can improve skin health. Part 1 discusses vitamin A, vitamin C and zinc. Part 2 discusses biotin, sulfur and omega-3 fatty acids. Finally, part 3 discusses vitamin E, selenium and vitamin B5.
Finally, for those of you who are new to the diet, or perhaps perched on the fence, you may want to watch this short clip from ABC’s Nightline. It’s now over a year old and could just be when the Paleo Diet broke the surface and became more publicly recognised. The clip also features great input from Paleo dieter and Crossfit Guru Robb Wolf. It’s a great piece of material to show those who question your motives when it comes to your lifestyle choices.
P.S. Be sure to check out the Paleo Recipe Book. It’s a cookbook I’ve created to help you cook the best food for your health. It contains over 370 recipes and covers absolutely everything you need.
