Depending on where you are, you may just be getting ready to celebrate the upcoming Thanksgiving weekend! We never seem to stray too far from the handy Thanksgiving Recipes Collection that can be found on our website. It’s probably the best Paleo menu you’ll come across. I reference it every year and tend to switch things up by adding a few different side dishes and maybe a new seasonal dessert. It also just so happens to work well for the quickly approaching Christmas holidays.
Aside from getting myself ready to cook a Paleo feast, I took advantage of some free time to marinade some beets. I like to get my shelves well stocked for the winter months. Beets also happen to be finishing off their season where I am, so it’s by far the most reasonable time of the year to work on this project. Head over to the marinated beets recipe if you want to prepare some of your own. I know I’m going to have to devote more time in the coming weeks to making even more, mainly because it seems like we’ll be eating through them this weekend. This and the fact that I’m sure that many of my family and friends will be taking a jar for the road. If anything, it’s a nice gesture to have them leave with something during a time when we’re supposed to share and be thankful for the food of the land.
Since our last post here we’ve shared some really informative articles. One of the most interesting is the Paleo Guide to Healthy, Natural Fertility. Over the course of my involvement in the Paleo community, I’ve seen a huge amount of interest about this topic. Fertility happens to be a growing problem in our society. It appears as though more and more women as well as men are facing obstacles along their journey to conceive. Many people seem so shocked to hear that their health status is oftentimes the one thing getting in the way of the creation of a new life, but when you really think about it, doesn’t it seem like the one thing that would make most sense? I’ll stop here and let you read all about it. Most should find it interesting, whether or not you have children, or plan on having some. While still on this topic, I’m reminded of an e-mail I received just under a year ago from a lady who had been actively trying to conceive for 7 years. She sought every treatment possible and eventually chose to let go of the battle. After being Paleo for just 3 months, she found herself in complete shock when learned the impossible had come true and she was now pregnant! I still wish I had gotten a more in-depth story from her that I could share with everyone, but just those few details should say enough.

Once you’ve learned everything you need to know about healthy and natural fertility, take some time to read up on the importance of a healthy pregnancy and the crucial stages of life that follow. Chris Kresser has an abundance of amazing information on these topics. You can find everything you need to know about a healthy Paleo pregnancy and raising a Paleo child in the Healthy Baby Code section of his website.
Aside from the article about fertility discussed above, we ‘ve posted a few other essential reads. Learn all about a proper consumption of water under our Paleo Hydration article and for those of you struggling with thyroid problems, our article discussing the thyroid gland should be very helpful.
I’ll finish off by reminding you to get creative in the kitchen and to try out this delicious Fruit Leather recipe. Remember indulging in those sugary fruit roll-up snacks when you were a kid? Or maybe you were like me and jealous of all this kids that actually got them as a daily snack. Well now there’s a better, more delicious and healthier version for Paleo followers.
P.S. Be sure to check out the Paleo Recipe Book. It’s a cookbook I’ve created to help you cook the best food for your health. It contains over 370 recipes and covers absolutely everything you need.
