I recently had to take a dose of my own medicine and jet off for a little rest and relaxation. In many of the articles published on the Paleo Diet Lifestyle like a recent one on the sleep-stress cycle, we’ve consistently reiterated the importance of taking time to rest and relax. In fact, I would confidently say that this should not even be an option in your life, but rather an obligation to be satisfied on a regular basis. But then there are times when life gets ahead of you and you convince yourself that the last thing you have time for in your hectic schedule is some much needed down-time. Don’t let yourself get to this point, nothing trumps your health more and rest is one of the greatest contributors to a healthy lifestyle. So just a few weeks ago when I found myself being swallowed by everything around me, I packed up and headed for a secluded location where nothing could follow. I’m now back, feeling quite rejuvenated and ready to bring you up-to-date on the Paleo community happenings.

Mark Sisson from Mark’s Daily Apple gained some well deserved recognition recently by appearing in a brief interview for NBC. He speaks of his experience of transitioning into a gluten-free diet and how this has shaped his life. Mark has made huge contributions to both the Paleo and Primal communities and it’s always encouraging to see more public attention and awareness being generated about the diet.
Just last week we published an article to our website discussing IBS: Irritable Bowel Syndrome. This could just be one of the most popular reasons for switching to a Paleo diet. It’s hard to believe that thousands upon thousands of people suffer from IBS and go years, even decades before finding any kind of solution. Are you a sufferer? If so, take some time to read the article to better understand where this problem stems from and how to properly treat it. While on this topic, you may want to also take some time to read this article discussing a potential link between gut bacteria and type II diabetes. Aside from the fact that there is a strong correlation between people already suffering from type II diabetes and gut bacteria, no other clear conclusions have been drawn. That being said, scientist are hoping that with more research they will be able to draw a connection between gut bacteria and developing type II diabetes in the near future.
Finally, make sure to experiment with some of the latest recipes we posted on our website. Have you tried these Herb Scones? They are a great snack and also go along well with a smoothie in the morning. If you have the time, make a large batch and freeze them. Also try out our latest twist on a burger: Eggs Benedict Burger. It’s super tasty for everyone, but I know for a fact that it is especially a hit with kids.
P.S. Be sure to check out the Paleo Recipe Book. It’s a cookbook I’ve created to help you cook the best food for your health. It contains over 370 recipes and covers absolutely everything you need.
