The Ancestral Health Symposium is on this weekend, with speakers from around the country traveling to Atlanta, GA, to present papers, debate issues, and get to know the community. Presenters who have blogged about their talks include:

  • Chris Masterjohn (Fat-Soluble Vitamin Interactions: An Ancestral Perspective)
  • Tony Federico (Is Facebook a Neolithic Agent of Disease?)
  • Robb Wolf (Liberation from the Industrial Food System)
  • Whole9 Life (Get to Know the 2013 Ancestral Health Symposium)

Can’t make it to Atlanta? While you’re waiting for the videos of the conference presentations to appear, check out the rest of this week’s news:

  • Are you hungry? What kind of hungry? Amy Kubal lays out all the different “kinds of hungry” in this post, and explains how food is not necessarily the answer to all of them.
  • Chipotle took some criticism earlier in the week for apparently backing down on its commitment to antibiotic-free meat, but it turns out the hype was premature: your best “less-bad” fast food chain is safe.
  • In the Paleo world, we sure love our butter, but we also demand the best – learn about a recent controversy over the Kerrygold brand, a longtime Paleo favorite, at the Bulletproof Executive.
  • The Whole30 team are not fans of moderation, and they aren’t shy about it, either – in a new post this week, they’re asking us all to “Please stop saying ‘everything in moderation.’” But not everyone is quite so thrilled with the black-and-white ideal; for a very fair criticism of how restrictive dieting might not be healthy for everyone, take a look at this post and this one from Beth at Weight Maven.
